We celebrated the 75th anniversary of forint issuance in 2021. On this occasion the central bank of Hungary issued a special commemorative coin set. It’s design was selected by the public in a social media voting campaign. In order to make this coin issuance attractive for the younger generations, MNB has combined this action with NFT issuance as well. In addition, the graphical appearance of the NFT coins is the coloured version of the physical coins. This presentation introduces the steps of the coin issuance highlighting the public involvement and analyse the NFT issuance method and its conclusions.
