Commemorative circulating coins are not just a test-bed for new techniques and features for circulation coins, but also serve as a good means of celebrating national events, which generate more and more public interests in coins. The aim of my presentation is to introduce our own best practice about how to engage the public in these coin programs in China. Firstly, we give a compressive review of commemorative circulating coin programs, which consists of four different stages during the past three decades. Secondly, we describe the detailed measures about how to make the coins more attractive for the public from the prospective of designing, techniques, packaging and quality control. Lastly, we indicate our future plans for a better and healthy coin ecosystem in order to avoid the pitfalls of overexposure and lost value. In a word, commemorative circulating coin program can safeguard coins against cashless challenges in the near future.
