It is clear, that one of the biggest issues for Central Banks, in relation to coin, is that circulation is low. This causes significant inefficiency in the cycle, as a result we see unnecessary expense to Mint new coin, availability issues (in time of crisis) and inflated CIT costs due to suboptimal use of coin in the retail sector. This presentation will provide a summary of some practical initiatives to encourage greater coin recirculation and improve the overall efficiency in the coin cycle.
