Geldmaat and Brink’s have created a sustainable solution for the coin circulation process in The Netherlands. The solution optimizes the coin recirculation process, guaranteeing ‘access to cash (coins)’ for the Dutch society and minimizing the cost of circulation.

Geldmaat, the Dutch ATM pooling organization, has outsourced the full solution to Brink’s. Brink’s has deployed 750 Coin deposit and coin roll dispensers installed at retailers.

Costs for coin handling have been reduced significantly, end-users are happy with the high uptime and availability of the coin devices (which is often difficult to achieve for coin devices) and the Dutch National Bank is satisfied with the amount of coins being returned to circulation without the need for constantly producing new coins.
